The station was originally built as bay and offices to right in the 1960's (67?) and an extension built and opened on 8/4/1995. This extension was to the right of the offices.
With the new brigade structure introduced in the summer of 2003 the 3 Divisions were re-organised into 2 Commands North and South, Fortrose was put into North Command. Call signs remained the same.
