Unit upgraded from Volunteer to Retained 3/7/1970.
Station was built in 1970 and refurbished in 1995.
With the new brigade structure introduced in the summer of 2003 the 3 Divisions were re-organised into 2 Commands North and South, Aviemore was put into South Command. Call signs remained the same.
